Event technician

Job title: Event technician
Hours: Full time
Duration: Permanent
Salary: Competitive
Location: Cornwall

At JHAV no two days are the same – one day you’re delivering a corporate event in a nice warm venue, and the next could be a live music show or on a festival site. We are looking for event technicians to join the team.

About us

JHAV is the South West’s go-to one-stop event production company. We are based 15 minutes from the beach in Cornwall, but have a reach far beyond its borders. We deliver event solutions across the UK and into Europe, and our reputation in the live event, corporate and live music sectors is exceptional.

After a rapid period of growth, and with a busy calendar planned in 2022, we are growing our team of specialists. We work in an exciting and fast-paced environment, that’s constantly changing and developing.

About the role

We are on the hunt for multi-disciplined technicians with a strong all-round skill set, but showing a higher level of ability in one of the following fields: audio, video, lighting and streaming. You will need to show a pro-active can-do attitude and a drive to learn and progress.

Principal duties and responsibilities

Working as part of a team or occasionally single-handedly, our event technicians prepare, set up and operate technical equipment for live events, including corporate, live, theatre and touring.

You will need to have knowledge of the equipment used and the skills needed to prep, maintain, transport and build components into a functioning system, as well as operate these systems.

Outside the event environment, you will be responsible for the de-prep, servicing, basic repair and storage of technical equipment.

Part of your role will be working as the on-site key client link, or between the project management team,  client, and our freelance specialists.

Our event technicians will occasionally be expected to work weekends and evenings, as well as away from home from time to time.
